Whats bad about Stan Lee gaining undeserved credit is that i visited a local small art studio/gallery/shop and they had Kirby era marvel comic book covers blown up as framed prints...only a small mention of Kirby being the artist! But Stan Lee got the credit... amazing

What Moore doesn't even mention here is that it's not just the problem of credit, but Stan Lee was basically thieving his way through Kirby's output, giving himself a writer's credit on all the work and taking home a fair bit of cash. That's just as egregious, if not more so, than hogging credit.

I am someone who has only read a few Batman comic books, and I thought Killing Joke was quite good. I suppose it's for non-Batman regulars? Anyway, Tom Strong is ace. I don't particularly find Swamp Thing to be a superhero comic book, it's more of a horror book to me, it's probably one of the best comic book runs of all time. But yeah Moore's work is mostly non-superhero and it's the best stuff: V, League, From Hell, Lost Girls, Promethea etc

Despite all the horror and exploration of ideas and the collapse of the cosmos, the one thing that emotionally resonated with me was the idea of the poor journalist, unable to fully express his love for his fellow men, just sighing alone in his hotel room, and delving into his lonely psyche. Made me just quite sad.

Not to correct the great Moore but Stan was around 18-19 years old when the first issue of Captain America came out. He did work on Captain America number 3 as a text filler until the first comic book he wrote with Jack Kirby, which was Fantastic Four number 1 20 years later.

Just had to catch one in our bedroom, started on the wall, under the bed, up the bedhead and finally got the sucker in a wide mouth beer glass with a piece of stiff card. If I didnt catch it we would have been sleeping in the spare room, my wife wouldnt stay in the bedroom with one wandering around. Youve got to be stealthy, ruthless and fast as shit to catch them especially on a warm night when they are very active. This one was very fast and also very jumpy, but Eventually I got him into the glass and out into the garden. The legs usually stick out beyond the glass at first but they soon pull them in,. We lived in Sydney for 35 years, so huntsman, orb weavers and funnel webs were as always around the house and in the garden - With three females in the house its a mans job to remove the spiders.... Ive put my hands on them occasionally by accident, they feel soft and furry to touch. A really big one is about the size of your hand. If that was a kiwi accent I heard in the clip, you are a brave man indeed...well done.
